Admission Req​uirements & How to Apply to the program

Admission Requirements For the MBS: Each science concentration has different admission requirements and those are listed under the science concentration. At a minimum, requirements for the MBS include:

• a bachelors degree with a science/math/engr major from an accredited university, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• GRE exam
• 3 letters of recommendation
• personal statement.

  *Please note, admission requirements for 4+1 BS/MBS students are different. Please go here for more information.

Below are the application deadlines for the MBS degree:

Fall:

US/Permanent Resident Students: June 1st
International Students: May 1st

BS/MBS Students: May 15th

Spring:

S/Permanent Resident Students: Oct 22nd
International  Students:  October 1st

BS/MBS Students: Oct. 15

Summer: 

All Students: March 1st

How to Apply:

All students apply through the main graduate admissions portal http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu. Concentrations are available on different campuses, please check with the concentration to see which campus it is offered on. Some are offered on more than one campus, and some have courses that share different campuses.

For specific instructions  on how to apply, select the program which you are applying to:

Master of Business and Science Degree Applicants

Step One: Go to http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu to fill out application. If you wish to apply for the MBS, select  Business and Science  (code 16137 for New Brunswick, 56137 for Camden, 26137 for Newark).  

Application Package consists of:

•     Office of Graduate Admissions application form (online only)
•     Application fee (online only)
•     Supporting materials:
  • Required GRE Exam Scores (ETS sends directly to Rutgers; unofficial scores cannot be used for evaluation. International Students Require the TOEFL. Rutgers School Code is: 2790).
  • Three letters of recommendation (online form email request).
• Official University Transcripts (Please request your transcript to be sent to directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions for the respective campus- see address below).
• Personal statement
• Resume (optional)

5. Fill out information
6. Select Business and Science and once again Business and Science 16137 for New Brunswick or 56137 for Camden or 26137 for Newark.

7. Please then select your concentration and continue with the application

 Please note:

• Students MUST send all of their supporting documentation (transcripts, etc) to the respective campus in which they are applying to.
• Your application will not be complete without ALL necessary documents.
• GRE Scores & GPA requirements vary for each concentration.
• For your personal statement, please provide us with some background information about yourself and why you would be interested in pursuing the Master of Business and Science Degree. How will this degree benefit you as an individual and in your professional career? (All students must submit a personal statement)

Master of Business and Science Non-Degree Applicants

This option is open to only those students who are interested in eventually pursuing the MBS degree but may not have all the requirements ready at the time of application (e.g. letters of recommendation, GREs) and would like to start taking courses.

This option is not available to international students (No Visas can be sponsored for this).

If an applicant has earned their Baccalaureate degree from an institution other than that in the USA, then the applicant may be subject to take the GREs even for a non-degree admission to the program as per the discretion of the program director.

** For Graduate/PhD Students with Financial Assistance
Students who receive financial assistance (TA, Fellowship, and/or Research Assistantship) MUST have their Advisor sign an Advisor's Approval Form before they can be admitted into the Certificate. Please find the form here.
 

Certificate in Pharmaceuticals & Clinical Trials Management - Non-Degree Applicants (16137P)
