The new Professional Science Master's Program with a degree in Master of Business and Science at Rutgers University combines academic education in management or business with science, engineering, etc. This program is responding to the needs of modern industries and businesses that are looking for multidisciplinary workers with up-to-date knowledge in their fields, but who also understand the linkage between technology and business. Such workers know how to lead innovations from idea to commercialization, understand market and customer needs, know how to assess financial decisions, and demonstrate leadership and team-building skills. The program includes 43 credits (15 courses) and is based on tracks of at least 4 courses plus electives. Each student is required to take at least one track in business and one track in science or engineering. A typical degree will include 4 courses in business and 8 courses in science. In addition, students are required to participate in an Innovative Capstone Project of 6 credits, where they have to turn a scientific idea into an innovative team-based business plan for a new product, process, initiative, service, business, or study. These plans will be offered to potential investors or companies, and students may become partners in potentially successful ventures. If you would like to enroll or get more information, please fill in the attached survey including your contact information. The program is still being formulated and more information will be forthcoming. Stay tuned!
